Bhagalpur, August 24 (HS). Hundreds of farmers, labourers, women, students and youth demonstrated in front of Navgachiya block office on Saturday under the banner of CPI-ML for various demands. During this, slogans were raised like make income certificate of less than Rs. 72 thousand for assistance of Rs. 2 lakh to 95 lakh extremely poor families under the Haq Do-Vaada Nibhaao Abhiyan, give 5 decimal residential land to landless families, give pucca house and 200 units of free electricity to everyone, etc. After this, the delegation of CPI-ML submitted a memorandum to Block Development Officer Gopal Krishnan.
Addressing the gathering, CPI(ML) leaders said that when the Mahagathbandhan government was in power, caste census was conducted. It was found that 95 lakh families in the state, or 34 percent of the people, are extremely poor, to whom the government promised to give 2 lakh rupees for employment, but today it is procrastinating in the name of income certificate. Therefore, give money to all the identified poor or give income certificate of less than 72 thousand. On the other hand, the government had promised to give concrete houses to all the poor and land to the landless by 22, but today lakhs of poor are homeless and are wandering around due to lack of land.
Therefore, our demand is that the government should provide employment, housing and land to the landless. Navagachia Block Secretary Ramdev Singh, District Committee Member Gaurishankar Rai, Suresh Kunwar, Ravindra Mishra, Gurudev Singh, Vakil Mandal, Rajendra Pandit, Radheshyam Rajak, Ashok Mandal, Manoj Sharma, Jaiprakash Sharma, Punama Pratap Nagar Panchayat's Sarpanch Neetu Devi, Ramcharan Mandal, Ishwar Mandal, Bhutesh Mandal, Birbal Mandal, along with hundreds of poor labourers, men and women participated in the demonstration!
