To promote Digital India, North Central Railway has started the facility of payment through QR code at the ticket counters of railway stations. This facility will provide a permanent solution to the problems faced by passengers during transactions.
This will eliminate potential problems like lack of change while buying tickets, overcharging and mistakes during cash payment. Payment through QR code will also promote the Digital India campaign of the Government of India. To make the railway travel experience pleasant, continuous efforts are being made by North Central Railway for smooth ticket distribution.
For the convenience of passengers, North Central Railway has provided the facility of payment through QR code at two UTS and two PRS in Prayagraj division, 40 UTS and 4 PRS in Jhansi division and 44 UTS counters in Agra division. Through this facility, passengers can buy railway tickets using UPI app. Payment through UPI app is playing an important role in passenger facilities and smooth ticket distribution.
Facility at 519 counters
In the coming time, this facility will be made available at 272 counters in Prayagraj division, 158 in Jhansi division and 89 in Agra division, which will increase the total number of counters to 519. With this, the facility of payment through QR code will be available at a total of 611 counters in North Central Railway.
