Amritsar: The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee has sent a legal notice to media channel Zee Studio for releasing the trailer of the controversial film 'Emergency' starring actress and MP Kangana Ranaut. Not only this, the SGPC has also written a letter to Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnav, expressing strong objection to the film. The Central Censor Board has been asked to read the script to the SGPC before releasing the film. According to the information, SGPC President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami has sent a legal defamation notice to media channel Zee Studio, which released the trailer of this film defaming the character of Sikhs.

Secretary Pratap Singh confirmed this and concluded that the said channel has also been given a strict warning regarding the removal of the film's trailer from the broadcast channels. He said that Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnav and Central Film Censor Board Chairman Parsan Joshi have written separate letters and expressed strong objection to the film and have also demanded that it should not be released on September 6. Apart from this, the Shiromani Committee has also been asked to read its script before the possible release of the film. He said that the Union Minister has been requested to provide the script of the film so that the SGPC can investigate it thoroughly. He said that as per the objection raised by the Sikh organizations, the film should be allowed to release only after cutting the objectionable scenes from the film.
