Lieutenant Governor chairs 47th Board Meeting of Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board | News India

Srinagar, 23 August (HS). Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha chaired the 47th Board Meeting of Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB) at Raj Bhavan. The board meeting chaired by the Lieutenant Governor appreciated the civil administration, Jammu and Kashmir Police, Army, CAPF, Disaster Response Force, Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board, health and sanitation workers, service providers and all stakeholders for the successful conduct of Shri Amarnathji Yatra.

This year more than 5.12 lakh pilgrims visited the Holy Cave of Shri Amarnath Ji. This is the highest figure for the Yatra in the last twelve years. The Board discussed various interventions and proposed measures to further improve the facilities and services for the pilgrims. The Board members shared their valuable suggestions on the agenda points placed during the meeting. They also appreciated the improved queue regulation and crowd management, successful implementation of Aadhaar based registration and various pilgrim-centric efforts of the Shrine Board and other concerned departments and agencies during this year’s Yatra.

The Chief Executive Officer of Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board made a detailed presentation on various ongoing works and other important factors related to the annual holy pilgrimage. Additional CEO SASB, senior officers of UT Administration and Shrine Board also attended the meeting. The meeting was attended by Shrine Board members – DC Raina; Kailash Mehra Sadhu, KN Rai; Dr Shailesh Raina and Professor Vishwamurti Shastri.
