Katihar, August 23 (HS). Under the Chief Minister's Disabled Empowerment Student Scheme “Sambal” scheme, a battery operated tricycle distribution program was organized on Friday. This program was organized by the District Social Security Cell in the Collectorate. On this occasion, District Officer Manish Kumar Meena distributed battery operated tricycles to 10 disabled people of the district. Under this scheme, applications of a total of 90 disabled people have been approved in the entire district.
During the distribution, the District Officer talked to the disabled beneficiaries Naresh Sharma, a resident of Dandkhora block and Nasreen Khatun, a resident of Katihar block and encouraged them. Assistant Director of District Disabled Empowerment Cell, Amresh Kumar, District Manager of Buniyad Center Vijay Kumar and Child Protection Officer Sudhir Kumar were present in the distribution program.
The process and eligibility for providing motorized tricycles to disabled persons under the Chief Minister's Disabled Empowerment and Sambal Yojana operated under the scheme is as follows:-
Locomotor disabled students whose residence is 03 km or more away from the college/university campus in the state of Bihar.
Such mobile disabled persons who work in Bihar state for the purpose of self-reliance and are earning members of their family and their place of employment is 03 km or more away from their residence. It is mandatory to be a permanent resident of Bihar state and have residence in Bihar. Age should be 18 years or more, disability should be 60 percent or more, maximum income should be two lakh rupees per annum.
