Ranchi, August 23 (HS). The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has also become active in the case amid suspicion of Medica Hospital doctor Ishtiaq, who was arrested by Jharkhand ATS, being linked to a land scam. The ED suspects that the recently exposed Al Qaeda-inspired terrorist module may have important links with the major land scams in Jharkhand.

Regarding this, ED has called Bablu Khan, a resident of Bariatu in Ranchi, for questioning on Monday. Bablu Khan is the brother of Afsar Ali and is allegedly the father-in-law of Talha Khan. ED is now investigating whether any terrorist organization has been funded from the money earned from the land scam. It is being told that Dr. Ishtiaq, arrested by ATS, has been associated with Bablu Khan's hospital. Both of them are also family relatives. Afsar Ali and Talha Khan are chargesheeted in the army land scam and the land scam related to Hemant Soren.

Investigation has revealed that Dr Ishtiaq was a key operative of Al-Qaeda in the Indian Subcontinent (AQIS) in Jharkhand. Sources have confirmed that the ED has summoned Bablu Khan for questioning. According to sources, a clinic is registered in the name of Dr Ishtiaq and it is managed by Bablu Khan.

The ED is also trying to find out the ownership of the clinic and the relationship between Dr Ishtiaq and Bablu.
