Udaipur, 23 August (HS). Union Finance and Corporate Affairs Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Friday inaugurated the newly constructed GST Bhawan in Hiranmagri Sector-14 in Udaipur by lighting a lamp and cutting the ribbon. Addressing the inauguration ceremony, she said that GST offices are being made convenient since 2019 for the convenience of taxpayers. This will enable taxpayers to easily go and get a solution if they have any questions or problems.
He said that if the atmosphere between the officer and the taxpayers is positive, then there will be no problem in resolving the problem. In the GST Council also, the officers and ministers are resolving the problems immediately. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that the cement, tyres, fertilizers, industry and mineral sector here have a big contribution in GST, but now small industries are also developing. He said that now the advent of mobile app has helped in export-import. The highest GST revenue in Udaipur comes from zinc. Apart from this, a lot of GST also comes from cold drinks and pan masala. He said that GST should be implemented effectively and the officers should be positive towards the taxpayers, so that there is no need to take strict steps.
She said that the Ice Tab app launched today will help importers and exporters to send goods immediately. Finance Minister Sitharaman said that we had approved Rs 42 crore for this building built in Udaipur, but it was built in only Rs 32 crore. She said that the problems of taxpayers should be resolved immediately, this will not turn doubts into problems. She said that GST officers should have such a mindset that they should be ready to help taxpayers, which will boost business.
In the beginning, Sanjay Agarwal, Chairman, Central Board of Direct Taxes said that we have made provisions for the convenience of taxpayers in this building and the environment has also been taken care of. He informed about GST collection.
On this occasion, Udaipur Lok Sabha constituency MP Dr. Mannalal Rawat said that the Prime Minister's vision is that we will have to work at three times the speed to fulfill the dream of a developed India by 2047. He requested the Finance Minister to help in making Udaipur a tourism hub with Maharana Pratap as the center.
Rajya Sabha member Chunnilal Garasiya said that GST collection in the country is constantly increasing, due to which the country is moving towards economic development. He urged the Finance Minister and said that this area is a mineral sector, cooperation is needed in the mineral sector. Udaipur Rural MLA Phool Singh Meena, Udaipur District Collector Arvind Poswal were also present on this occasion.
