4 important MoUs (Memorandum of Understanding) have been signed between India and Ukraine during the one-day visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Ukraine.
The first MoU on humanitarian assistance has been signed between India's Foreign Minister S Jaishankar and Ukraine's Minister. Three other MoUs have been signed by the Secretaries of the Government of India and the Ministers and officials of the Government of Ukraine. The first MoU relates to humanitarian assistance, the second to agriculture, food and the third to cultural cooperation. The fourth MoU has been signed on medicines.
PM Modi's Ukraine visit is very special
The whole world is watching this visit of PM Modi. Ukraine became an independent nation in 1991. This is the first visit of an Indian Prime Minister here. PM Modi has arrived in Ukraine at a time when Ukraine has launched an aggressive military campaign against Russia. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky warmly welcomed Prime Minister Modi, shook hands with him and hugged him.
The Indian Foreign Ministry has issued a statement on PM Modi's visit to Ukraine. The ministry has said that the PM became emotional after seeing the memorial display in memory of the children who lost their lives in the conflict. He expressed grief over this. A toy was kept in memory of the killed children.
