The Metro, which is considered the lifeline of Delhi, has made another record. On Tuesday, August 20, 2024, the maximum number of passengers traveled in the Delhi Metro. On Tuesday, more than 77 lakh passengers traveled in the metro. With this, DMRC has broken its own record. In view of the rush of passengers on the second day of Rakshabandhan, DMRC ran more metros than usual.

More than 77 lakh passengers traveled

DMRC posted on Twitter that Delhi Metro has created a new record. On Tuesday, a total of 77 lakh 48 thousand 838 passengers travelled in the metro, which is a new record. In view of the heavy crowd, DMRC also operated some more metros. Which made it easier for people to travel. Earlier, on August 13, more than 72 lakh people travelled in Delhi Metro.

MOU's were signed

DMRC and NCRTC have taken an important step to provide comfortable travel to passengers. Both have signed an MoU which will integrate the ticketing systems of DMRC and NCRTC. This will help passengers to travel hassle-free between Delhi-NCR. This MoU was signed in the presence of DMRC MD Dr. Vikas Kumar and NCRTC MD Mr. Shalabh Goyal.

Lines are not visible at the railway station

This integration will allow passengers to buy QR code tickets of both NCRTC and DMRC on a single platform. NCRTC tickets can be bought on the DMRC Sarathi (Momentum 2.0) app, and DMRC QR tickets can be bought through the NCRTC mobile app. This will reduce queues at NCRTC and DMRC stations and save time for passengers. This operation will also promote digital transactions and eco-friendly transportation.
