Mumbai: Police have banned playing vulgar songs on DJs and throwing colour and water-filled balloons at pedestrians during Dahi-Handi celebrations on Janmashtami.
Police have warned that immediate legal action will be taken against anyone who tries to disturb the law and order situation in the city or hurt anyone's religious sentiments.
The prohibitory order will be in force from 12 midnight of 25 August to 12 midnight of 27 August. During this period, it has been urged to ensure that obscene comments or announcements are not made or obscene songs are not sung in public places, incitement should not be spread in religious matters and especially women should not be targeted.
