Purnia, 22 August (HS). The accused found guilty in the case of ganja smuggling was sentenced to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs 2 lakh under various sections. In case the fine is not paid, the accused will have to spend an additional year in prison. The name of the accused who got the punishment is Abdul Motalib Saahab Habargadi, Thana Kotwali, District Cooch Behar, West Bengal.
This sentence has been pronounced in the court of 4th Additional District and Sessions Judge Vikram Kumar under Bayasi Police Station Case No. 420/2022. A total of six witnesses were recorded in the court in this case. The case in this case was registered by the then Sub Inspector of Police of Bayasi Police Station, Suraj Prasad.
