Three Tata 407s loaded with illegal sand seized, FIR lodged | News India

Dhanbad, August 22 (HS). On the instructions of Deputy Commissioner Madhavi Mishra, continuing the action against illegal mining, storage and transportation of mineral wealth in the district, the District Mining Task Force on Thursday, under the leadership of Sub-Divisional Officer Uday Rajak, conducted an investigation campaign against illegal mining and transportation of minerals.

During the investigation, three Tata 407 vehicles loaded with sand were signaled to stop near Park Market, Swami Vivekananda Chowk under Dhanbad Police Station. On seeing the investigation team, the drivers of the vehicles took advantage of the situation and fled leaving their vehicles behind.

The seized Tata 407 number BR 17 G 2717 and another Tata 407 (whose registration number has been erased) were found carrying about 100 – 1006 cubic feet of illegal sand and the Tata 407 number JH 10 U 4226 was found carrying about 40 cubic feet of illegal sand. After which all the three vehicles were seized and handed over to Dhanbad police station and an FIR was registered.
