Lohaghat (Champawat), 03 March (Hindustan Reporter). Lohaghat police and ANTF have arrested a history-sheeter and a woman with about 1.25 kg of hashish.
Under the leadership of SO Lohaghat Surendra Singh Koranga, SI Sonu Singh, ANTF in-charge and Lohaghat police searched the Swift Dezire car going towards Pithoragarh near Marodakhan on Pithoragarh road, in which the team found history-sheeter and notorious smuggler Pushkar Singh Rawal alias Kalwa of Lohaghat police station. (55) Son Guman Singh resident of Bautari and Kamla Jukaria (42) Wife Girish Jukaria resident of Gram Sabha Guth Garsadi were found. When both of them were searched, the police recovered 800 grams of hashish from Pushkar Singh and 440 grams of hashish from Kamla (total 1 kg 240 grams). Police arrested both of them and seized the vehicle.
SO Lohaghat Surendra Singh Koranga said that a case has been registered against both the hashish smugglers under the NDPS Act at Lohaghat police station and they will be presented in the court on Sunday and sent to jail. The case is being investigated by SI Hemant Kathayat police station Lohaghat. SO Koranga said that Lohaghat Police's action against drug smugglers is continuing.
