Ranchi, August 21 (HS). Chief Secretary L Khiangte has directed the Rural Works Department to form a special team of engineers for the Pradhan Mantri Gramin Sadak Yojana. This team will coordinate to get the approval and allocation of PMGSY schemes from the Government of India. JSRRDA will depute its subordinate engineers for this. There is a plan to lay a network of roads through PMGSY in the rural areas of Jharkhand.
Roads are being built in villages with 250, 500 and 1000 population. Now, even villages with a population of 100 will get roads from PMGSY. Separate road and bridge projects are underway for Naxal-affected areas. In Jharkhand, new road projects were approved by PMGSY about two years ago. In such a situation, instructions have also been given to prepare DPR for fresh approval.
