Ranchi, 21 August (HS). Jharkhand High Court on Wednesday partially heard the petition of former minister Gopal Krishna Patar alias Raja Peter seeking permission to cross-examine two government witnesses in the former minister Ramesh Singh Munda murder case. The court has directed to send the case to the competent bench. Raja Peter, the accused in the case, has filed a petition in the court and requested to cross-examine two government witnesses made by the NIA. The case was heard in the court of Justice Anil Kumar Chaudhary.
NIA has recorded the statements of about 89 witnesses in the case. On July 9, 2008, former minister Ramesh Singh Munda was shot dead by Naxalites during a program in a school in Bundu. Many accused including former minister Gopal Krishna Patar alias Raja Peter, Naxalite Kundan Pahan are facing trial in the case. Raja Peter is currently on bail in the case. He has got bail from the High Court.
