State President of Ulama Board Syed Anas Ali while talking to journalists at a private hotel in MP Nagar on Wednesday said that Muslim actor Salim Dewan has played the role of a homosexual in the film. Although, this character in the film is a follower of some other religion, but Salim belongs to the Muslim religion and homosexuality is considered haram in Islam. Despite this, Salim played the role of a homosexual in the film. This is strictly against Islam and Shariat. Other officials of the board along with Anas Ali also issued a fatwa against Salim in the press conference.
Board's state president Anas said that we are protesting only against actor Salim and not the film. He said that people's religious sentiments are constantly being hurt through films. The censor board should take special care of this. A separate wing should be formed in the board, which only investigates religious aspects. The sentiments of the followers of Islam have been hurt through this film. We will protest against actor Salim all over the country.
