Abhishek Banerjee, who has worked in films like 'Stree' and 'Bhediya', has been surrounded by controversies. Actually, Abhishek had to give clarification due to the statement given by Karan Johar against Dharma Productions. Recently, Abhishek said some such things about Dharma Productions in an interview which created controversy.
Now Abhishek has clarified that he did not say anything wrong and his statement has been distorted. Abhishek used to do casting work for Dharma Productions in the early days of his career. Abhishek said, I have been reading and hearing a lot of news about my company 'Casting Bay' being allegedly fired by Dharma Productions during the casting of the film Agneepath (2012). Unfortunately, our issues have been completely misrepresented. In a podcast/interview I had explained the reason for my exit from the project and also said that we were having trouble getting along with 'Agneepath' director Karan Malhotra. I also emphasized that Anmol and I were quite young at that time, around 20 to 23 years old, we did not have much experience of casting for commercial films, so we probably could not live up to Karan Malhotra's expectations, according to his statement. Apart from this, I have not accused Dharma Productions of any wrongdoing. I respect Dharma Productions and Karan Johar a lot. I never mentioned Karan Johar's ouster from 'Agneepath', even though some reports falsely claimed that he fired us. Actually, Karan Malhotra's team has done this and I also admit my mistakes. Later we worked with Dharma in many projects, including films like 'OK Jaanu', 'Student of the Year 2', 'Kalank' and the recently released 'Kill'. Apart from this, Dharma Productions also cast me as an actor in 'Ajeeb Dastaan'. Let us tell you that the casting director of the film Agneepath, released in 2012, was Abhishek Banerjee. The film was produced by Karan Johar, while it was directed by Karan Malhotra. The producer of the film found Abhishek's casting so bad that he immediately removed him from the film. In an interview to Siddharth Kannan, Abhishek Banerjee said that we were thrown out of 'Agneepath'. We were casting for that film. However, later the casting of the film was done by Jogibhai (Malang). Why were we removed? Because Karan sir did not like our casting.
