Saharsa, 20 August (HS). Bharat Ratna former Prime Minister Late Rajiv Gandhi's 80th birth anniversary was celebrated at the District Congress Office on Tuesday under the chairmanship of District President Mukesh Kumar Jha. First of all, Congressmen paid tribute by offering flowers to his photo. District President Mukesh Kumar Jha said that Rajiv ji had dreamed of building a prosperous India and had pledged to eradicate communalism, terrorism, poverty and hatred from the country.
On this occasion, All India National Congress member Dr. Tara Nand Sada while paying tribute to late Rajiv ji said that Rajiv ji was the creator of modern India. He had shown the revolution in computers, right to vote to the youth of the country at the age of 18, 33 percent reservation to women, Mahatma Gandhi's Gram Swaraj Yojana and India's dream of a prosperous country in the 21st century. Not only this, he had made India accept its supremacy in the world in the field of economy, electronics and science-technology.
Dr Sada said that Rajiv ji, who brought Panchayati Raj and communication revolution in the country, was a man with a great personality. After the program, fruit trees were also planted by Congress workers. In today's birth anniversary celebration, many people including former state president and senior leader of NSUI Keshar Kumar Singh, state delegate Ram Sagar Pandey, Mohd Naeem Uddin, senior vice president Kumar Hira Prabhakar paid tribute.
