Review meeting-cum-training organised for special summary revision of electoral list | News India

Katihar, 20 August (HS). A review meeting-cum-training was organized on Tuesday under the chairmanship of the District Election Officer-cum-District Officer regarding the special summary revision of the electoral list-2025 on the basis of eligibility date 01 January 2025. All the Electoral Registration Officers and Assistant Electoral Registration Officers were present in the meeting held in the National Information Technology Auditorium. In the said meeting, a training program was conducted for all the concerned EROs and AEROs under pre-revision activities.

During the program, it was told that as per the rules of the Election Commission of India, rationalization and amendment of polling stations, which has been fixed from 20 August 2024 to 18 October 2024. Physical inspection of 100% of all polling stations from 20 to 29 August 2024, polling stations will be constructed on the basis of the maximum number of more than 1400 voters on the date of July 1, 2024.

During the review, the publication of draft list of polling stations, receiving claims and objections, disposal of claims and objections, identification of discrepancies found in the final published electoral list and preparation of an action plan with time limit for its resolution and implementation, process of deletion of name and other election related training were discussed in detail and trained.

Also, during the training, the District Election Officer-cum-District Officer directed all the EROs and AEROs to go from door to door in Katihar district and get the names of dead persons of different categories verified through BLOs, pay special attention to the sex ratio in entering the names of men and women, make all types of reports related to the election available to the district headquarters from time to time, complete all works on the basis of the guidelines and parameters of the Election Commission of India and other important necessary guidelines were given. All the Electoral Registration Officers and Assistant Electoral Registration Officers and other concerned officers were present during the said review meeting-cum-training.
