Ranchi, 20 August (HS). The Excise Department on Tuesday seized a tanker carrying spirit from West Bengal in Ormanjhi. Three people have been arrested in the case. Based on a secret information received by the Assistant Commissioner of Excise, Ranchi, a tanker carrying spirit coming from Bengal was seized.
Hardeep Singh, Praveen Sharma were arrested along with the tanker.
Also, another vehicle which was moving ahead of the tanker was seized. Manpreet Singh was arrested from the said vehicle. He was informing the tanker driver about the further movement through his mobile.
The Excise Department team has taken this action under the leadership of Sub Inspector Pradeep Sharma of the Excise Department. The team has also arrested three people. It is being told that this spirit was to be used to make illegal liquor. The cost of the recovered spirit is said to be around 25 lakhs.
