Srinagar, August 20 (HS). An earthquake of 4.9 magnitude hit Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir this morning. This information was shared by the National Seismological Center in an Xpost.
According to the National Seismological Center, earthquake tremors were felt in Baramulla district at 6:45 am. The epicenter of the earthquake was latitude 34.17 N, longitude 74.16 E and depth 5 km below the ground. There is no report of any loss of life or property due to the earthquake.
It is said that as soon as the earthquake tremor was felt in Baramulla, a person jumped from his building. He got injured due to this. People took him to the hospital. As soon as the earthquake tremor was felt, people of the district came out of their houses and stayed in the open for a long time.
