Kolkata, August 20 (HS). Many questions are being raised in the case of murder and rape of a doctor student in R.G. Kar Medical College and Hospital. Many steps are being taken by the investigating agencies to bring out the real facts of this incident. The hospital authorities are also being accused of negligence in their duties and hiding evidence.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is now considering conducting a polygraph test of former principal of R.G. Kar Hospital, Sandeep Ghosh, in this case. The investigating agencies are finding contradictions in Sandeep's statements, due to which there is talk of conducting a polygraph test to check his veracity.

However, court permission is required to conduct a polygraph test. The CBI has already obtained permission from the court to conduct a polygraph test of the arrested civic volunteer. The court has approved this permission and now it is likely that the CBI may take steps in this direction in Sandeep's case as well. Also, the tower location of the mobile phone of the civic volunteer arrested on the day of the incident is also being investigated by the CBI.

Investigative agencies suspect that the victim may have been drugged or otherwise sedated on the night of the incident. However, the post-mortem report does not indicate any kind of poisoning, only mentions the amount of food in the stomach. A CBI forensic expert says that there are many flaws in the post-mortem report and a second post-mortem was extremely necessary. The CBI plans to submit the post-mortem report to the High Court.

CBI investigators believe that circumstantial evidence and proofs will play a crucial role in this case. They also suspect that a group of hospital officials have tried to hide many facts regarding the incident. Such indications have been found during the sustained interrogation of Sandeep Ghosh.

Last Monday too, Sandeep was questioned for 12 hours. He left the CGO complex at 11:40 pm. During the investigation, Sandeep has told many things about the orders given and the steps taken after the death of the doctor student, but many inconsistencies have been found in his statement.

The investigators also asked Sandeep as to why the repair work of the area near the seminar room was suddenly started during the incident, to which his reply was also not satisfactory.

Apart from this, contradictory information has also come to light during the interrogation of senior and junior doctors, nurses and security personnel deployed on duty that night. Investigators are now also collecting mobile phone records of all those officials.

Meanwhile, CBI officials have visited the house of the deceased student and talked to her parents. The CBI has also collected the footage of the activities of civic volunteers on the day of the incident from the CCTV cameras of the traffic department. The incidents of vandalism in the hospital have also been mapped and video recorded through 3D scanners so that the evidence can be presented more strongly.
