MUDA case against Karnataka CM: Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah has got a big relief from the High Court. The High Court has directed the lower court not to take any action against Siddaramaiah till August 29 in the alleged Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) case. The next hearing will be on August 29. On August 17, the Governor approved the case against Siddaramaiah. He is accused of submitting fake documents for compensation for Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) land.

What did the High Court say?

Hearing CM Siddaramaiah's writ petition, High Court Justice M Nagaprasanna said that any order allowing further action against the Chief Minister will affect the proceedings before this court. Since the proceedings are pending before the court and the debate is not yet complete. Therefore, the concerned court will suspend its proceedings till the next hearing of the case. No preliminary action will be taken in connection with these complaints.

Feeling more motivated than political battles: Siddaramaiah

After filing the writ petition, Siddaramaiah said, “My conscience is clear.” I have faith in the judiciary. I am confident of getting relief from the court because I have not done anything wrong. I have been in politics for 40 years and there is no stain on my political life. My political life is an open book. BJP and JDS have conspired to tarnish my image by using the Raj Bhavan. He said that we will fight the legal battle along with the political battle. I feel more energetic during the political battle. I have been doing this continuously. I have done this before, will do it now and will do it in the future too.

What is the allegation against Siddaramaiah?

Actually, Siddaramaiah's wife Parvati had 3 acres 16 guntas of land in Kesare village of Mysore district. This land was gifted to Parvati's brother Mallikarjuna in 2010. MUDA developed Devnur Stage 3 layout without acquiring this land. However, in exchange for this land, in 2022, the Basavaraj Bomai government gave Parvati 14 sites in the posh area of South Mysore. Their total area was 38,283 square feet under the 50:50 ratio scheme. Siddaramaiah's wife got a plot in Vijayanagar as compensation from MUDA, which is worth much more than her land in Kesare village. A complaint was filed against Siddaramaiah in this case. In this, Siddaramaiah has been accused of making fake documents to claim the MUDA site as family property.
