DM reviewed the schemes of Social Welfare and Minority Welfare Department – ​​News India Live | News India

Katihar, August 19 (HS). A review meeting was held on Monday in the Collectorate regarding the updated status and progress of welfare schemes run by the Social Welfare Department and Minority Welfare Department. While chairing the meeting, District Magistrate Manish Kumar Meena reviewed important schemes run by the Minority Welfare Department such as Chief Minister Minority Divorced and Abandoned Assistance Scheme for Muslim Women, Chief Minister Minority Student Incentive Scheme, Minority Hostel Scheme, Bihar State Madrasa Strengthening Scheme, Bihar State Minority Residential School Scheme, Chief Minister Shram Shakti Scheme, Chief Minister Minority Employment Scheme, NMDFC Term Loan Scheme and Graveyard Fencing Scheme etc.

In the meeting, a detailed review was done regarding the relief grant scheme, Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe welfare hostel scheme, Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe residential school scheme, Chief Minister civil incentive scheme, old age pension scheme, updated status of large shelter and construction of supervised house under the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Atrocities Prevention Act 1989, run by the Social Welfare Department.

In the above sequence, the District Magistrate directed the Deputy Director of Minority Welfare Katihar to provide benefits to the beneficiaries after verification of the application within the time limit under the Chief Minister Minority Divorced and Abandoned Woman Assistance Scheme, to ensure further action by reviewing the fencing of the proposed graveyard from the law and order point of view, to ensure the basic infrastructure in the proposed madrasa under Bihar Raj Madrasa Strengthening Scheme and to send a proposal to the department for strengthening the identified madrasa.

At the same time, the Deputy Director of the Minority Welfare Department was directed to benefit eligible students by thoroughly examining the applications received under the Chief Minister Minority Student Incentive Scheme to prevent fraud. The District Welfare Officer present in the meeting was directed to review the pending cases under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Atrocities Prevention Act and provide benefits to the victims under the Atrocity Relief Grant Scheme, prepare a year-wise report of the pending cases of the last three to four years, prepare and provide reports of pending cases related to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Atrocities Prevention in various police stations, review the condition, maintenance and facilities available of the hostel building operating in the district and get the dilapidated building of the hostel repaired and ensure all types of basic facilities in all operating hostels.

The officer in charge of child protection was directed to arrange treatment for sick children with special needs present in the large shelter, to inspect the large shelter regularly, to select land for construction of supervisor house and provide a proposal for land acquisition.
