FASTag KYC Last Date: National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has extended the last date for updating Fastag KYC by one month. Now you can update KYC of Fastag till 31st March. Earlier this deadline was kept till 29th February.
Under the One Vehicle, One Fastag initiative of NHAI, there will now be one Fastag for one vehicle. This Fastag cannot be used for any other vehicle.
If you do not update your FASTag, you may be blacklisted.
Those who will not update FASTag KYC details, their FASTag can be blacklisted after March 31. According to the order of National Highway Authority of India (NHAI), if the KYC of the customers is not updated till the end, then the bank will deactivate their Fastag. date.
If this happens, you may face difficulties while traveling on the highway.
What is Fastag?
The Government of India made FASTags mandatory for all vehicles from 15 February 2001. FASTag is an electronic toll collection system that simplifies the payment process of toll tax at all toll plazas. It helps in automatically deducting the toll amount from the linked bank account.
On what technology does it work?
FASTag works through Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology, which facilitates easy collection of toll tax payments. When a vehicle equipped with FASTag approaches the toll plaza, the scanner recognizes the tag and deducts the applicable amount from your account (bank account or prepaid card).

How to know if FASTag KYC is incomplete or not?
According to the IHML website, “If your FASTag KYC is incomplete, you will receive a notification via email, SMS or the application interface of the issuing bank regarding incomplete KYC. You are requested to keep an eye on your registered communication channels like SMS, e-mail etc. for updates.

- If you have not received any notification or reminder from your bank then it means that your KYC has been completed and no action is required from your end.
