Weather Update: Crops damaged due to snowfall in the mountains and rain in the plains, it will remain cloudy even today

New Delhi: The weather has changed in North India. On one hand there was no snowfall in December and January. Along with this, it has been raining with snowfall continuously for many days in the hilly states. Due to this, there was light rain in Delhi-NCR and neighboring states on Saturday. Crops have also been damaged due to this. The cold has increased in Uttarakhand due to continuous snowfall and rain. In Himachal too, there was rain and snowfall at most places. 5 vehicles fell in the snow storm near Manali. The weather remained bad in Jammu and Kashmir for the second day on Saturday. Two to three feet of fresh snow has accumulated in the high mountain areas.

Normal life is also being affected due to heavy rain and hailstorm at some places in low lying areas including Jammu and Srinagar. According to the Meteorological Department, the sky will remain cloudy on Sunday and there may be light rain in the plains as well as snowfall in tropical countries. On Saturday morning, the minimum temperature of Delhi was recorded five degrees Celsius above normal. Due to this the weather remained hot since morning. Due to western disturbance, there was light rain and strong winds in Delhi. The maximum temperature in Delhi was recorded at 25.2 degrees Celsius, which is two degrees Celsius above normal. The minimum temperature was recorded at 18.2 degrees Celsius, which is five degrees Celsius above normal.

Rain from UP to Punjab-Haryana, damage to crops

After the sudden change in the weather in Uttar Pradesh, which has been scorching with intense sunlight for many days, clouds and rain have given a slight coolness. It started raining with thunder and lightning in many districts from late evening on Friday, which continued till morning. There has been partial damage to crops at some places. Heavy rain occurred in many districts of Punjab including Jalandhar, Bathinda, Fazilka, Barnala on Saturday. The day temperature dropped due to rain. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of heavy rain in many districts of the state on March 3 also. Rain can damage ripe mustard crops as well as wheat and vegetables. At the same time, crops have been damaged due to rain and hailstorm in Haryana. In Haryana, there was rain and hailstorm in Hisar, Sirsa, Fatehabad, Bhiwani, Charkhi Dadri, Rohtak.
