Khunti, March 3 (Hindustan Reporter) Even before the announcement of Lok Sabha elections, the foundation stone laying ceremony of a scheme worth Rs 1100 crore is proposed on March 5 in Khunti parliamentary constituency. Union Minister Arjun Munda will lay the foundation stone of the main road connecting Ranchi to Lohardaga including Khunti, the road connecting Ranchi to Bandgaon and the road to be built at a cost of crores in Dumka.
Union Minister Arjun Munda's MP representative Manoj Kumar said that Union Minister Nitin Gadkari is also likely to visit Khunti on March 5. But at present no official confirmation has been given regarding his visit.
During the tenure of Raghuvar Das of Jharkhand, the construction of Khunti bypass road was approved, but due to political conspiracy and indifferent attitude of the officials, the construction of the road was stopped. After Arjun Munda became MP, the demand for bypass construction intensified and Arjun Munda promised to provide bypass to the people of Khunti.
After the initiative of Union Minister Arjun Munda, a new DPR was prepared and NHI approved it. About 50 kilometers of road from Tupudana to Bandgaon Phuljhari bridge on National Highway 75E will be constructed by NHAI at a cost of Rs 1100 crore. Two separate bypass roads and several underpasses will also be built at Khunti and Murhu on National Highway 75E connecting Ranchi's Tupudana to Jaitgarh. Road construction is also to be done from Tupudana to Bandgaon Phuljhari bridge on National Highway 75E.
