Raipur: A team of excise officials raided 18 liquor shops in Bilaspur district and conducted investigation | News India

Raipur, 18 August (HS). On the instructions of Excise Secretary cum Commissioner R. Sangeeta, continuous action is being taken after inspection of liquor shops across the state. Biometric system has been implemented for the attendance of placement employees working in liquor shops. Their attendance is being recorded through this. Overtime payment is being made for working more than the prescribed time.

In this context, the state level team inspected the liquor shops in Bilaspur district. Many deficiencies were found in them. Under the leadership of Shyamlal Dhavade, Managing Director of Chhattisgarh State Beverages Corporation Limited, a team of 08 senior excise officers posted in Excise, C.S.M.C.L. and C.S.B.C.L. headquarters was formed and a surprise inspection of 18 liquor shops operating in Bilaspur district was conducted.

In the above investigation, the composite liquor shop Mopka, Desi, Foreign liquor shop Lingiyadih, Desi, Foreign liquor shop Bilha, composite liquor shop Chotikoni, Foreign liquor shop Sarkanda, Desi, Foreign liquor shop Sirgitti, Desi, Foreign liquor shop Sakri, Premium liquor shop Link Road Tarabahar, Desi/Desi/Foreign liquor shop Chuchuhiyapara, Desi, Foreign liquor shop Vyapar Vihar and Desi, Foreign liquor shop Yadunanand Nagar of district Bilaspur were inspected by Shyamlal Dhavade, Rakesh Mandavi, Additional Commissioner Excise, Ashish Shrivastava Additional Commissioner Excise, P.L. Sahu Deputy Commissioner Excise, Mrs. Neetu Notani Deputy Commissioner Excise, Naveen Pratap Singh Tomar Assistant Commissioner Excise, Mrs. Manjushree Kaser Assistant Commissioner Excise, Ashish Kosam Assistant Commissioner Excise team, when deficiencies were found in the liquor shops.

To review the deficiencies found in the rule of running the liquor shops, the investigating team held a joint meeting of all the Excise Officers posted in District Bilaspur and Divisional Flying Squad Bilaspur in the Excise Control Room of District Bilaspur and after doing a detailed review of all the deficiencies found during the investigation, necessary guidelines were given for achieving the revenue target, enforcement and filing of quality criminal cases.

Several deficiencies were found during the investigation

Unavailability of popular brands of liquor, liquor brands not displayed on the counter for sale, no regular inspection of liquor shops by the excise officers in charge, bank deposit receipt of daily sales amount not available at the shop, all brands of beer not cooled in the freezer for sale, shop security guard not available at the shop on time, lack of maintenance of equipment, furniture and fixtures, no regular sale or lifting of stored empty cartons, courtyards not arranged or operated in most of the liquor shops, lack of adequate cleanliness in the shop premises.
