Jaipur, August 18 (HS). It is time to move from selective secularism to transparent secularism. One country-one law is very important. Due to the absence of a uniform civil code, a system like triple talaq had to be abolished by bringing a law. Union Culture and Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat said this in a program.
At the Law Summit-2024 organised at Maharana Pratap Auditorium on Sunday, Shekhawat said that the Narendra Modi government wants to move forward in the direction of one country-one law by bringing in the Uniform Civil Code, but many political parties and people who consider themselves secular and disruptive forces are spreading rumours that the rights of minorities are being violated, which is a blatant lie. This law will not only free the minorities from the evil practice of polygamy, but will also completely end the inequalities in property rights. It will help in creating a modern society in the country.
India will become a superpower due to its cultural strength
The Union Minister said that along with economic, military and technological strength, cultural strength is a strong factor that will prove to be most helpful in making us a superpower. If people from all over the world like to visit India, it is because of our cultural strength. Therefore, cultural strength will be the strongest factor in making the country a superpower. India's tourism will grow at the rate of 15 percent, which will be almost twice the total growth rate of India's economy of 8 percent.
Equal priority to electronic evidence in new laws
Union Minister Shekhawat said that electronic evidence was not accepted in the old laws, but electronic evidence has been given equal priority in the new law code. When will the victim get justice in the old laws? There was no clarity on this, but there is complete clarity on this in the new law code, so that the victims will not have to wait for years for justice, rather they will know when they will get justice in their case. There were many laws whose clauses were made in the year 1860, which were not appropriate in the current scenario, so new laws have been made according to the new circumstances.
The new education policy will be a strong pillar to build a developed India
The Union Minister said that the new education policy will prove to be the strongest pillar towards making a developed India. This was the need of the hour, because the previous education policy was made during the British period, which did not fit at all in the current context. While the earlier education policy was based on two pillars like calculation and memorizing ability, the new education policy has an excellent inclusion of areas like communication skills, critical and analytical thinking and digital learning as per the demand of today's time, which will pave the way for making the country a developed India.
Awareness about digital crime is important
The Union Minister said that the way digital crime has increased is worrying, but awareness about it is necessary. At the pace at which digital crime is increasing today, people are not aware about filing a report regarding the fraud happening against them. He said that along with paying attention to this, work will have to be done in this direction so that the victim gets justice soon.
