New Delhi, August 18 (HS). Prime Minister Narendra Modi has congratulated Patongtarn Shinawatra on being appointed as the Prime Minister of Thailand. Wishing her a successful tenure, the Prime Minister expressed hope that the relations between the two countries will become stronger in the times to come. He said that the two countries have a historical heritage of relations based on the foundation of culture, civilization and people-to-people relations.
It is noteworthy that Patongtarn Shinawatra, daughter of former Prime Minister Thaksin, received a royal order this morning at the Pheu Thai Party headquarters to appoint her as the 31st Prime Minister of Thailand. 37-year-old Patongtarn is the youngest Thai Prime Minister in history and the second female Prime Minister after her aunt Yingluck Shinawatra.
