Once again Ishan Kishan has decided to stay away from domestic cricket. He did not take the field for his state team in the Ranji match between Jharkhand and Rajasthan which started today (Friday). It was believed that following the instructions of BCCI, he would be a part of Jharkhand's playing eleven this time, but he once again ignored these instructions. It will be interesting to see what action BCCI takes on Ishan Kishan's behaviour.
Ishaan Kishan's attitude can be considered rebellious. Actually, in December last year, Ishaan had withdrawn his name from the Test series against South Africa. At that time BCCI had said that Ishan had taken a break due to personal reasons. However, later a report in Indian Express revealed that Ishaan has taken a break from the team due to mental fatigue. The reason for this fatigue is said to be that Ishaan was with Team India for a long time, but he was given a chance in the playing eleven only when an important player was either injured or unavailable.
After this, a report also revealed that when Ishan Kishan was taking a break from cricket citing mental fatigue and was holidaying abroad, the BCCI was not happy with his behaviour. The report also said that BCCI had advised Ishan to gain form by playing Ranji cricket.
However, Ishaan did not listen to BCCI and has not played a single Ranji match since January. Instead, he thought it better to take personal training. Recently, he was also seen preparing for IPL with Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya. Team India coach Rahul Dravid has made it clear that only when Ishan Kishan scores well in domestic cricket, the doors of Team India will open for him.
He also had to be ruled out of the Afghanistan series
Due to Ishan Kishan's behavior he was not even given a chance in the T20 series against Afghanistan. Meanwhile, in the England Test series, the selectors gave a chance to Dhruv Jurel in his place. Now it remains to be seen how BCCI reacts to Ishaan's rebellious attitude.
