Kolkata rape-murder case: Anti-social elements attacked protesters at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata, the capital of West Bengal, on Wednesday (August 14) night. They beat up the protesting doctors and vandalized the hospital. The central government has become strict about this incident.

According to the memorandum issued by the Health Ministry, in case of assault or any kind of violence against a health worker on duty, it will be the responsibility of the head of the hospital/institution to register an FIR within 6 hours of the incident.

This memorandum was issued for two reasons

The first case is the rape and murder of a female doctor at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. The second reason is that on Wednesday night, anti-social elements attacked the people protesting there and the doctors.
