Today is the 6th death anniversary of the country's former Prime Minister and Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Atal Bihari died on 16 August 2018 at the age of 83. On this occasion, all BJP leaders including the Prime Minister reached his Samadhi 'Sadaiv Atal' and paid tribute. President Draupadi Murmu was the first to pay tribute to the former Prime Minister. After this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Union Minister JP Nadda, former Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar also paid tribute to the former Prime Minister.
Atal ji was born on 25 December 1924 in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh. Atal Bihari Vajpayee was the big face of BJP for decades and was the first non-Congress Prime Minister to complete his term as Prime Minister. He also served as the Foreign Minister of India in the cabinet of Prime Minister Morarji Desai from 1977 to 1979. He died on 16 August 2018 at AIIMS Hospital in Delhi.
Let us tell you that Atal Bihari Vajpayee has been the Prime Minister of India thrice. He became the Prime Minister for the first time in 1996 for 13 days. He had to resign due to not being able to prove majority. He became the Prime Minister for the second time in 1998. Due to withdrawal of support by the allies, general elections were held again in 1999 after 13 months. He became the Prime Minister for the third time on 13 October 1999. This time he completed his term till 2004.
