Kathua 02 March (HS). Director General of Police RR Swain IPS sanctioned a cash reward of Rs 1 lakh for the members of the SIT for successfully solving the Chadwal robbery and arresting 03 criminals and recovering the loot.
According to the information, on May 18, 2023, a case was registered at Police Station Rajbagh in connection with the robbery at the shop of Amit Gupta, owner of complainant Krishna Building Material Chadwal. According to the complainant, on 17 May 2023, at around 2 pm, three unknown persons, wearing mask and helmet, entered his office and put a gun on the head of his brother Mohit Gupta and took away about one lakh rupees in cash and 01 gold coin from the counter and purse. Ran away after looting the ring.
During the investigation an SIT was formed by SSP Kathua, comprising SDPO Border Dheeraj Singh Katoch and DYSP PC Kathua Tilak Raj Bhardwaj who was assisted by the then SHO Rajbagh Tariq Ahmed and conducted the investigation in a professional manner. These teams examined all the CCTV footage with the help of technical teams and human intelligence which immediately succeeded in solving the case and three hardened criminals were identified and arrested who were identified as Prince Kapoor S/o Bharat Bhushan Kapoor R/o Ward 07 Samba, Rakesh Kumar son of Prem Chand resident of Pauni Dab Reasi, Sahil Kumar son of Bachan Lal resident of Ward 11 Bishnah Jammu. Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police sanctioned a cash reward of Rs 1 lakh to appreciate and motivate the members of the investigation team.
