School Holidays 2024: Schools will remain closed on August 16 in Jalandhar district of Punjab. CM Bhagwant Mann himself has announced the holiday during the flag hoisting ceremony at the state level function organized at Guru Govind Singh Stadium on the occasion of 78th Independence Day. There will be no classes in schools on Friday.
Why did the Chief Minister take this step?
The government has taken this step to provide relief to the students. Many students were involved in the preparation of the program to be held inside the stadium on August 15. They played an important role in making the program a success.
Holiday declared in government offices and colleges too
This order of CM Mann will be applicable to all government and private schools as well as colleges. Apart from this, holiday has also been declared in government offices of Jalandhar.
CM made these announcements for the students
During the ceremony, the Chief Minister also made several other announcements related to students. 100 Schools of Happiness have been announced in the state. Under which 100 primary schools will be opened for children between 3 and 11 years. Its objective is to promote stress-free primary education. Apart from this, the CM has also announced free admission facility for UPSC. Free treatment through Mohalla Clinic and financial assistance to martyred Agniveers has also been announced.
