Bijapur, 15 August (HS). The great festival of freedom, 78th Independence Day was celebrated with dignity and joy in the entire district. In the district level main program Mini Stadium, the chief guest Antagarh MLA Vikram Usendi hoisted the flag and took the salute of the parade. In the main program, the Chief Guest read out the Chief Minister's message to the public, after which colorful balloons were released in the sky as a symbol of joy. The family members of the soldiers martyred in the Naxalite eradication campaign present at the venue were honored by the chief guest by presenting shawls and coconuts. The chief guest also honored the MISA prisoners by meeting them and inquired about their well-being, after which the officers and employees who performed excellent work in their field of work in the district were honored with a certificate and encouraged. This included police personnel, officers and employees who made commendable contributions in departmental activities including education and health.

In the program, the team which performed well in the parade team and cultural program was awarded with prizes. In which the senior parade team Bastar Fighter Women got the first place, CRPF got second place and District Police Force Women got third place. In the junior parade team, the scout got first place, NCC got second place and Guide got third place. Similarly, a charming cultural presentation was done by school students in which the students of Swami Atmanand Hindi Medium School got the first place for a beautiful presentation on the song “Hum Katha Sunate Ram Sakal Gun Gaan”. Eklavya Vidyalaya Bijapur got second place on the song “Adivasi Jungle Rakhwala” and Kanya Residential School Bijapur got third place on “Bastariya Lok Nritya”. Along with giving prizes and honor to the winning participants, the chief guest Vikram Usendi, Collector Anurag Pandey and Superintendent of Police Dr. Jitendra Yadav also got a group photo taken. In the main program, regional MLA Vikram Mandavi, District Panchayat Chairman Shankar Kudiyam, Municipality Chairman Benhur Rawatiya, public representatives of district and Janpad Panchayat, Municipality councilors, eminent citizens G Venkat, Srinivas Mudliar, Chief Judicial Magistrate Tajuddin Asif, DFO Ramakrishna, Additional SP Vaibhav Banker, Deputy Director Indravati Tiger Sandeep Balga, Additional SP Chandrakant Govarna, SDM Bijapur Jageshwar Kaushal, senior officers of district and police administration, school students and general public were present.
