Dhamtari, 2 March (Hindustan Reporter). Police on Saturday arrested two accused with 40 liters of Mahua liquor kept in the house illegally for sale. The police seized liquor and cash from the accused and registered a case against both of them and took action.
According to the information received from Magarlod Police, a complaint was received from the villagers about illegal sale of Mahua liquor in village Bhaluchua. When the police reached the village and conducted a raid to take action against the accused, they seized 20 liters of jerkin and Rs 4,000 in cash, which was kept for illegal sale to people, from Palturam Mandavi of the village. When the accused could not show the documents to the police, the police detained the accused. Similarly, 20 liters of raw Mahua liquor kept illegally in the backyard of the house of Rupesh Kumar Netam, 39, of village Bhaalchua, has been seized from two plastic jerrycans. Four thousand rupees have also been seized from the accused. Liquor and cash were seized from the possession of the accused on the spot as he did not produce any valid documents regarding keeping and selling of liquor. Police have registered a crime against both the accused and sent them to jail on remand.
