Jaipur, 15 August (HS). Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma said that Independence Day reminds us of the sacrifices and sacrifices of our brave martyrs. This day makes us realize that for the free air we are breathing today, so many sons of Mother India have sacrificed their lives. Sharma was addressing the 78th Independence Day celebrations held at the Government Secretariat complex on Thursday.

He said that by responsibly discharging the duties and responsibilities of a true citizen and employee, we can make our true contribution in securing the independence of the country and in the development of the nation. The Chief Minister said that the Government Secretariat is a symbol of the aspirations and faith of the people of the state. The officers and employees of the Secretariat play an important role in the implementation of the decisions of the government related to policies and schemes. Being the apex institution of the Secretariat Administration, it is our responsibility to deliver the schemes of the State Government to the people at a fast pace so that they can get proper benefits of the schemes.

Sharma said that timely promotion of personnel infuses new enthusiasm and new energy in their efficiency. Keeping this in mind, the state government has given relaxation of two years in the experience prescribed for promotion to government employees in the budget. All the work related to the establishment of the officers and employees of the Secretariat Service is being done in a timely manner. In the year 2024-25, by organizing the meeting of the Departmental Promotion Committee of Rajasthan Secretariat Service in the stipulated time, more than 100 officers and 130 employees have been promoted. Along with this, approvals of Rs 275 crore have been issued for the modernization and upgradation of the Secretariat. He said that the state government will provide four lakh government jobs in five years and this year appointments are being made on about one lakh posts. The Chief Minister said that if every citizen takes one step in the interest of the state, then the state will move eight crore steps forward on the path of development.

On this occasion, Chief Secretary Sudhansh Pant said that under the able leadership of Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, the state employees are discharging their duties with full devotion and dedication. Through e-filing, pending files are being disposed of quickly. Rajasthan is the leading state in the country in implementing the Central Government's initiative 'IGOT Karmayogi' for skill training of employees. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also praised it.

Earlier, the Chief Minister hoisted the flag at the Government Secretariat premises and inspected the guard of honour. Sharma offered flowers in front of the statue of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi. Cultural presentations were given by the Secretariat personnel in the programme. During this, the Chief Minister also rewarded the officers and employees who did remarkable work in various fields.

On this occasion, Additional Chief Secretary (Chief Minister's Office) Shikhar Aggarwal, Principal Secretary (Chief Minister's Office) Alok Gupta, Principal Secretary Personnel Department Hemant Gera, Joint Secretary Personnel Department Kanishka Kataria, President of Rajasthan Secretariat Employees Union Buddhi Prakash Sharma along with officials of the Secretariat Employees Union and a large number of officers and employees of the Secretariat Service were present.
