National Flag Code: India's Independence Day is celebrated every year on 15th August with joy and enthusiasm across the country. Be it common or special, everyone is painted in the color of Independence Day. In such a situation, people also put the national flag on private vehicles. But amidst the zeal of patriotism, people often forget that there are some rules regarding the tricolor. It cannot be installed anywhere. It is worth noting that such an act is a punishable offense under the Indian National Flag Code. And if a case is registered for this crime, the culprit may also have to go to jail. These people have privileges
The Indian Flag Code rules that only certain constitutional heads have the special privilege of flying the national flag on their vehicles. These dignitaries include the President and Vice President of India, Governors and Lieutenant Governors, Prime Minister and other Cabinet Ministers, Chief Ministers and State Cabinet Ministers. Others include the Speaker, Deputy Speaker, Speakers and Deputy Speakers of the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, Speakers of Legislative Assemblies and Legislative Councils, Chief Justice of India, Judges of the Supreme Court, Chief Justices and Judges of High Courts and Heads of Indian Missions and Posts Abroad.

Flags cannot be hoisted here.
Citizens are allowed to show their patriotism and zeal by hoisting or carrying flags at home. But it is a crime to hoist the tricolour incorrectly on private vehicles. Violation of the Indian Flag Code is punishable under the Prevention of Insults to National Honour Act, 1971. Article 3.23 explains how the display of the national flag can be misused, stating, “The flag shall not be flown on the top, side or rear of any vehicle, train or boat.”

Which lays down the methods of proper display of the national flag. It states, “When the flag is displayed alone on a motor car, it should be hoisted from a staff firmly attached to the front centre of the bonnet or on the front right side of the car.”

Insult of the tricolour
misuse of the National Flag, or anyone who 'burns, defaces, destroys, tramples or [अन्यथा अनादर या अवमानना ​​​​दिखाता है]insults the Indian National Flag or the Constitution of India or any part thereof (whether by words, spoken or written, or by acts) shall be punishable with imprisonment for a term which may extend to three years or with fine or with both.'

The rule also says, “Disrespect to the Indian National Flag includes— (a) gross disrespect or insult to the Indian National Flag.”
