Ranchi, August 14 (HS). The champion girls reached Ranchi by flight at 1 pm today after defeating Bangladesh 4-1 in the final competition of the 63rd International Subroto Cup Under 17 Girls Football. A grand felicitation cum welcome ceremony was organized for the girls at the Ranchi headquarters of Jharkhand Education Project Council. The officials encouraged the champion girls by giving them bouquets and gifts. State Education Project Director Mr. Aditya Ranjan and State Program Officer Mr. Dhirasen Soreng, who were present to welcome the girls, congratulated the girls for this victory and wished them all the best for the future.
Daughters want to represent the state and country in international competitions
The champion girls met Umashankar Singh, Secretary, School Education and Literacy Department and expressed their gratitude to Chief Minister Hemant Soren and the department for the support being given by the state government for the promotion and training of sports. The girls expressed their desire to represent Jharkhand and the country in more international competitions in the future and pledged to continue their efforts for this. During the meeting, Umashankar Singh, Secretary, School Education and Literacy Department, encouraged the girls and assured them of all possible support. Umashankar Singh said that the state government is committed to the development of sports and players in Jharkhand and work is being done continuously to promote sports at the school level. Sports clubs have also been formed in schools, through which sports related activities are being encouraged.
Girls team reached Ranchi by flight
The champion girls of the competition reached Ranchi by flight at 1 pm today. From Ranchi airport, the girls came to JEPC by bus, where they were felicitated.
From the very beginning, a strong performance of Jharkhand's daughters was seen. The team defeated the opponent team by a big margin in all its matches. Jharkhand's team hoisted the flag by defeating Delhi 7-0 in its first match, Gujarat 3-0 in the second match, Arunachal Pradesh 13-0 in the third match, Tripura 2-0 in the quarter-final, Haryana 4-2 in the semi-final and Bangladesh 4-1 in the final.
