New Delhi, August 14 (HS). Budget airline SpiceJet has announced the results of the first quarter (April-June) of the current financial year 2024-25. In the April-June quarter ended April 30, 2024, the airline's profit fell by 20 per cent to Rs 158 crore. In the same quarter of the last financial year 2023-24, the company had a profit of Rs 198 crore.
SpiceJet said in a statement issued on Wednesday that its profit in the first quarter of the financial year 2024-25 has come down from Rs 197.6 crore to Rs 158.2 crore as compared to the previous financial year. Thus it has declined by 19.9 percent. At the same time, the company's revenue from operations in the April-June quarter declined by 15 per cent year-on-year to Rs 1,708 crore, which was Rs 2,003 crore in the same quarter of the previous financial year.
However, if we compare the April-June quarter with the January-March quarter, the company's profit after taxes has increased by 24%. The company's net profit in the January-March quarter was Rs 127 crore. The airline has said that the increase in the company's profit on a monthly basis reflects the efforts being made for the recovery of the airline.
