Hisar, August 14 (HS). Volunteers of National Service Scheme unit of Haryana Agricultural University took out Tiranga Yatra. Vice Chancellor of the University Prof. BR Kamboj flagged off this Yatra. Addressing the volunteers present in this Tiranga Rally organized on Wednesday, Vice Chancellor Prof. Kamboj said that the main objective of taking out the rally is to awaken the spirit of patriotism in the hearts of the people and to make them aware about the national flag. The tricolor is a symbol of pride of our country for which freedom fighters and brave soldiers have sacrificed their all.
He especially appealed to the youth to know the history of the tricolour, that after so many sacrifices and hard efforts we have got the opportunity to hoist our national flag. They should remember the sacrifices of their ancestors and maintain the dignity of the tricolour. He said that our national flag is a symbol of the unity, progress and peace of the country. He told that the upper strip of the national flag is saffron in colour which is a symbol of courage, sacrifice and self-denial. The white strip in the middle is a symbol of peace and truth. The green strip shows fertility, growth and purity of the land. There is a dark blue circle in the middle of the white strip. It is called Ashok Chakra. Which is a symbol of Dharmachakra. This circle has 24 spokes. Every spoke in this circle has its own importance. All the spokes together show the all-round development of the country and society.
Student Welfare Director Dr. Madan Khichad said that this Tiranga Yatra started from the administrative block of the university – Fletcher Bhawan and passed through the Old Campus, all the colleges of the university, entrance gates and residential areas. On this occasion, OSD Dr. Atul Dhingra, Registrar Dr. Balwan Singh Mandal, Dean of Postgraduate Education Dr. KD Sharma, Dean of Community Science College Dr. Bina Yadav, Estate Officer and Chief Engineer Dr. MS Siddhpuria, Finance Controller Naveen Jain, Controller of Examinations Dr. Pawan Kumar, Media Advisor Dr. Sandeep Arya, SVC Kapil Arora, Chief Security Officer Sukhbir Singh etc. were present. National Service Scheme Awardee Dr. Bhagat Singh, NSS Officer Dr. Chandrashekhar Dagar, Dr. Vipin, Dr. Mona Verma and Dr. Mohammad Irdish were present in the Tiranga Yatra.
