Ludhiana- On August 17, the farmer organizations of Punjab involved in the United Kisan Morcha raised the issue of water, loan relief, MSP in front of the houses of the Chief Minister, Cabinet Ministers and Assembly Speaker, Deputy Speaker of Punjab. It was decided in the meeting that the demand for freeing farmers and labourers from debt will also be raised strongly. The Punjab government was requested to ensure advance management of DAP fertilizer for the next crop. Along with compensating the farmers for the loss caused by artificial fertilizers, medicines and seeds, a demand was also made to ensure their quality test report under all circumstances before supply.

In the meeting, the central government was demanded to open the Wagah-Attari and Hussainiwala-Suleman road corridors to open trade through road corridors to the Middle East. The Punjab government will be asked to make arrangements in this regard by passing a resolution in the Vidhan Sabha.
