Ranchi, August 13 (HS). On August 10, 50 lakh rupees were recovered from Patna station, the capital of Bihar. This money belonged to Pandey gang of Jharkhand. A team of Jharkhand ATS has reached Patna and started investigating the case.
DGP Anurag Gupta said on Tuesday that RPF had detained a person with Rs 50 lakh from Patna station on Saturday. Investigation has revealed that the recovered money belongs to Pawan Thakur of Ramgarh district of Jharkhand. He said that Pawan Thakur is directly connected to the Pandey gang. An FIR will be registered against Pawan Thakur in Jharkhand regarding the case. A team of Jharkhand ATS has gone to Patna and is working on the case in collaboration with Bihar Police. It is worth mentioning that Pandey gang is active in coal areas like Ramgarh, Hazaribagh of Jharkhand. At present, this gang is being operated through Vikash Tiwari.

On Saturday night, the RPF team had detained a person named Bajrang Thakur with Rs 50 lakh at Patna railway station. During interrogation by Patna police, Bajrang had told that the recovered money belonged to Pawan Thakur of Ramgarh and the money was to be given to someone in Patna. After coming out of the junction, Pawan Thakur or one of his men would call and he would go and deliver the money. After getting information about the case, the Jharkhand ATS team has become fully active on the instructions of DGP Anurag Gupta. One team of Jharkhand ATS is working in Patna, while the other team is searching for Pawan Thakur in Ramgarh, so that information can be obtained about who the money was to be delivered to in Patna and for what purpose.
