Stock Market Today: The stock market witnessed a dry session this morning. Sensex and Nifty fluctuated between 100 and 150 points. At 10.30 am, Sensex was down 207 points and Nifty was down 57 points. Smallcap and midcap were also trading flat.
Amidst the ongoing speculations after the news of allegations against SEBI Chairperson Hindenburg, common investors are currently adopting a wait and watch policy. Out of the total 30 stocks traded in the Sensex pack, 11 stocks were down by 2.74 percent, while 19 stocks were trading up by 1 percent. A 50-50 trend has been seen in the market today.
231 stocks hit upper circuit, 207 hit new highs
As of 10.40 am, 231 stocks were in upper circuit on BSE, while 165 stocks were in lower circuit. 207 stocks hit new yearly highs and 21 stocks hit yearly lows. Out of the total 3747 stocks traded, 1702 stocks were trading in green zone and 1907 stocks were trading in red zone. Which indicates cautious attitude.
Stock market outlook
There has been a decline in retail inflation in the country. In July, the retail inflation rate came down to a five-year low of 3.54 percent. On the other hand, investors rejected Hindenburg's allegations. Which has no effect on the market. Asian markets have also seen improvement. Positive factors have been seen at the local level. According to market experts, Nifty has maintained the level of 24400 in 3 out of the last 4 trading sessions. If it rises above this, it can reach 24700. The support level is 24000.
