Mumbai: Bangladeshi national arrested at airport with fake Indian passport | News India

Police have arrested a 25-year-old Bangladeshi youth from Mumbai International Airport. The accused was trying to flee to Saudi Arabia on an Indian passport.

According to information, Mumbai Police arrested a 25-year-old Bangladeshi national trying to go to Saudi Arabia from Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport on Monday. An official said that the accused has been identified as Mohammad Usman Karamat Ali Biswas, who was living illegally in India since 2012.

Biswas was trying to fly to Saudi Arabia from Mumbai airport on August 11 using a fake identity card in the name of Usman Kirmat Siddiqui when the police caught him.

Entered India illegally in 2012

During interrogation, it was found that he had entered India illegally in 2012. After entering India, they found important documents like voter ID card, Aadhaar card and PAN card. Police said that earlier also he had traveled in the year 2016 and the year 2023. Police have recovered voter ID, Aadhaar card, passport and other fake documents from the accused.

During interrogation, the accused told that he had come to India illegally. At the age of 13, he came to Kolkata and then Pune. While working there, he obtained his documents.

Recently 5 Bangladeshis were arrested

Earlier on Sunday (August 11), Navi Mumbai Police arrested five Bangladeshi nationals for illegally staying in Navi Mumbai area. Acting on a tip-off, Navi Mumbai Police raided a residential complex located in Koparkhairane area, from where they arrested four women and a man.

Giving information about the whole case, an officer of Koparkhairan police station said, 'These people came to India on the basis of fake documents. The age of the four women is between 34 to 45 years. She does all the household work. This man is 38 years old and works as a house painter.
