Central government's tax revenue increased by 22.48 percent and reached close to seven lakh crores – News India Live | News India

New Delhi: Government data released on Monday showed that the country's net tax revenue grew 22.48 per cent to Rs 6.93 lakh crore. This includes Rs 4.47 lakh crore as personal tax revenue and Rs 2.22 lakh crore as corporate tax revenue.

Apart from this, security transaction tax of Rs. 21,599 crores has been collected. While from other taxes, it has earned Rs. 1,617 crores. Refund of Rs. 1.20 lakh was issued between April 1 and August 11. Thus an increase of 33.49 percent has been registered in it.

In terms of total revenue, direct tax revenue grew by 24 per cent to Rs. 8.13 lakh crore. This includes Rs. 4.82 lakh crore as personal tax income and Rs. 3.08 lakh crore as corporate tax income. In the current financial year, the government has set a target of raising Rs. 22.07 lakh crore.
