CM Mann Shifts House: Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann is preparing to shift his residence in Jalandhar. Now he is preparing to shift to the old Baradari area in the middle of the city. The government residence to which the Chief Minister is shifting belongs to the Divisional Commissioner. Recently, Divisional Commissioner Gurpreet Sapra has been transferred and now a luxurious government residence is being prepared for the Chief Minister.
The Chief Minister's Office has also given permission to the Public Works Department, Punjab State Electricity Corporation Limited and Water Supply and Sanitation Department to make changes in the basic structure of the house. The Chief Minister's security team has proposed peripheral walls, waiting room, shed, additional security personnel and parking space in the house spread over about 4-5 acres. The mansion is in a high security zone, where apart from the DC, the mansion of the session judge is also nearby.
He had rented a house in the city before the Jalandhar by-election. It was from here that he led the party to a big victory in the general elections. During the election campaign, he had promised the people that he would stay in Jalandhar even after the elections and would come here every week to work for the people. He had said that the people of Majha and Doaba would no longer need to come to Chandigarh and their work would be done from Jalandhar.
