Mumbai/New Delhi, August 12 (HS). The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has formed an expert committee. The Reserve Bank has formed this committee to make its regularly released data in line with global standards. This 10-member committee will be headed by the central bank's deputy governor Michael Debabrata Patra.
In a statement issued on Monday, RBI said that an expert committee has been formed under the chairmanship of Deputy Governor Michael Debabrata Patra. This committee will have 10 members. The objective of this committee is to make the data regularly disseminated in line with global standards and provide guidance on the scope of improvement.
The Reserve Bank has asked this expert committee constituted on the standardization of data to submit its report by the end of November 2024. This committee headed by Michael Debabrata Patra will also study the quality of other regular data. Other members of this committee include R. B. Burman (Former Chairman, National Statistical Commission), Sonali Desai (National Council of Applied Economic Research, New Delhi and University of Maryland, USA), Partha Ray (Director, National Institute of Bank Management, Pune) and Bimal Roy (Former Chairman, National Statistical Commission).
