Khunti, 12 August (HS). JMM District President Zubair Ahmed said that the Hemant government has started the Maiya Samridhi Yojana to empower half the population of the state. Under this scheme, a target has been set to benefit 50 lakh mothers and sisters of the state in the age group of 21 to 50 years. So far, 24 thousand women have been registered for this. Zubair Ahmed was addressing a press conference at Khunti Dak Bungalow on Monday.
He said that Chief Minister Hemant Soren was kept in jail for six months. It was in jail that the Chief Minister thought of empowering women. Rising above the party level, he decided to benefit people of all communities. He said that all 50 lakh women will be registered before Raksha Bandhan. Women accepted that Hemant Soren is their true brother. The scheme is rapidly reaching each and every house. He said that more than 35 thousand women have applied in Khunti district.
Abua Dishum and Abua Raj Government are working to benefit 48 lakh women. The District President said that there are reports of some middlemen being active in this scheme. Inform about such people, FIR will be registered against them. He said that this is the 35th scheme of the state government for public welfare.
On the occasion, party's central member Sudeep Gudiya said that through the Mainiya Yojana, women are being made self-reliant. He said that the society will be strong only when women are empowered. He said that people are participating in the scheme in large numbers. Initially there were difficulties, but the Chief Minister amended it. After which the speed of filling the forms has increased. Sudeep Gudiya said that the opposition is afraid of the scheme. People are being misled by the opposition. He said that the opposition has nothing to do with development. JMM Mahila Morcha President and central member Snehlata Kandulna said that Mainiya Samman Yojana is a very good scheme for women. The opposition is spreading a lot of confusion. The statements of the opposition are baseless and their efforts will fail.
